The 2011-12 school year has been very busy in terms of facility improvement projects funded by school improvement local county option/soon-to-become statewide penny sales tax funds. At the beginning of the first semester, we experienced an electrical “brown-out” incident at the high school. This event caused the electric motors which ran the two heating and ventilation units suspended from the gymnasium ceiling to burn out. Our director of buildings and grounds, Jim Ettleman, and I worked with our insurance carrier and determined that these two units needed to be replaced. . . .

The Eagle Wrestlers rolled through the field at the sectional wrestling tournament that was held Monday night at Riverside H.S. The Eagles crowned champions in half of the 14 weight classes and sent a total of 11 wrestlers on to the District Tournament, which will be held this Saturday, Feb. 11 at Underwood High School (noon start). Capturing first place for the Eagles were Taylor Curtis (106), Andrew Foutch (120), Cody Kingery (138), Mike Novotny (145), David Athey (152), Drake Fanslau (160), and Evan Schnack (220). . . .
