Speaker Jon Pritikin Tells Students to "Be a Hero"

Uses his own power to share a powerful message

Underwood High School students were implored to "be a hero" today by speaker Jon Pritikin.

Jon started the show by demonstrating his amazing strength as he rolled up a 12-inch frying pan in a matter of seconds, then bending a bar that held the weight of two students.  He showed the bar was real by lifting two volunteers up and spinning them around several times.  Then he put them down and bent the bar in his mouth!  Jon is a Guinness World Record Holder for the tightest circumference of rolling up 2 12-inch frying pans with his bare hands in 30 seconds.   He ended his presentation by breaking a regulation baseball bat over his leg.

After showing his real strength and power, Jon shared his own powerful life story, one in which he grew up not speaking, picked on by schoolmates, and dismissed by teachers.  He told students what an impact they could have by reaching out to those students sitting alone or to those being picked on.  He had a teacher who believed in him, helped him get organized, and encouraged him that he was capable.  He urged the students to be a hero like the heroes that had stepped into his life and made a difference for him.

Jon has delivered his message to over 9 million people across the world.  His speech today was sponsored by TS Bank.
