Dance Girls Excel at State Solo Dance Competition!
Four UHS dance team members (Senior: Emily Larsen, Sophomores: Abbie Martin and Aubrie Massie, and Freshman: Hailey Martin) competed on Saturday November 2nd at the Iowa State Dance Solo Competition in Newton. There were roughly 60 competitors in Underwood's class from different high schools all over Iowa. The dancers all performed their solos very well with the following results:
Emily Larsen - Division 2
Hailey Martin- Division 1, 12th place overall
Aubrie Massie- Division 1, 8th place overall
Abbie Martin- Division 1, 7th place overall
Coach Erica Roane stated that she was happy with the results, and she and the rest of the dance team are looking forward to making the trip to the Iowa State Dance team competition in Des Moines on December 5.
