The Underwood High Girls' Track Team had a remarkable weekend at the recently completed Iowa High School Track and Field Championships held at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.  The Eagles earned 27 points to finish in fifth place in Class 1A!

Devon Jensen led the way for the Eagles, capturing her second consecutive discus title with a throw of 125' 10" to win the title by more than seven feet.  Devon also competed in the shot put and took home the silver medal with a toss of 36' 11 3/4".

Kara Telfer scored for the Eagles with a third place finish in the 3000-meter run in a time of 10:56.72.  Kara followed that up with a sixth place finish in the 1500-meter run in a time of 5:01.41.  Both times were personal bests for Kara, with the 3000 time setting a new school record!

Trevour Yates ran to a 12th place finish in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:23.85, which was less than one second away from placing in the top seven!  It was a personal best for Trevour.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Chelsey Williams, Brooke Johnson, Anna Minear, and Anne Hasenkamp ran a time of 52.52 (a season best) to place 3rd in their heat and 16th overall.

The Distance Medley relay team of Chelsey Williams, Brooke Johnson, Anne HASenkamp, and Trevour Yates ran a time of 4:25.61 (a season best) to win their heat and place 12th overall.

Congratulations to Coach Stephenson, Coach Wohlers and the Eagles Girls' Track Team for their amazing performances!
