Gable Porter and Blake Allen Win State Wrestling Titles
Third Title for Porter; First for Allen
Senior Gable Porter won his third State title with a first-period pin, and junior Blake Allen won his first State title with a great overtime takedown. Gable ends his amazing Eagle career as a four-time State finalist with a 132-2 career record and multiple victories over state champions from all over the Midwest. Blake's victory means that he and his sister Molly are the first brother and sister to win sanctioned State titles. Maddox Nelson wrestled some great matches and finished 6th; Carson Thomsen ended his tournament with a win for 7th place. Avery Vacek and Hayden Heun each lost both of their matches, but they got the valuable experience of wrestling in their first State tournaments. The team placed 7th overall. Congrats to all!
