Students from Underwood Leadership Academy shared their camp experiences at the Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors meeting on February 4, 2025. They also presented a certificate to the board in appreciation of their ongoing financial support for the program. #WeAreTheU

The 3rd grade students in Eagle Hub learned about the design process as it was related to t-shirt design. They each created a t-shirt design and then voted on the best one. This past Thursday UHS Special Olympic Athletes participated in Basketball Skills at IWCC.
Chase Rainey and MaKenna Christensen received first place in One Minute Dribble.
Bella Paugh and Kresten Renshaw received second place in Basketball Skills.
Gage Doyen received first place in Basketball Skills and will be advancing to the State Tournament in March!

Yesterday our HS quiz bowl team took on staff members in a staff vs. students competition during homeroom. Our staff's wisdom reigned supreme as the staff defeated the students! #WeAreTheU

These students were selected for the Iowa Western Community College Honor Band and rehearsed yesterday with local students and fantastic conductors. They created some great music put on an awesome performance. Nice work!

Congratulations to Leah Neumann for qualifying for the State Elks Hoop Shoot Contest! The Elks Hoop Shoot is a prestigious national free-throw competition, and Leah has earned her place among the best.
Leah, a 3rd grader in Mrs. Murphy's class, is the daughter of Sara and Robert Neumann. She recently secured her spot at the state level after an impressive run, winning three consecutive Elks Hoop Shoot contests. Leah began her journey by winning the school competition, which advanced her to the local Hoop Shoot Contest at Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln. From there, she competed at and won the Regional Contest in Creston, IA, earning her place in the State Competition in Ottumwa, IA, on February 8, 2025.
The winner of the state competition will move on to the National Finals in Chicago, IL, where they will compete against top athletes from across the country.

Congratulations to Connor Brummett, John Harold, and Charlie Brummett on their performance with the SWIBA Honor Band yesterday in Atlantic, IA.
Students auditioned for chairs in December and rehearsed all day yesterday with local high school musicians. Their conductors programmed great music and they put on a wonderful performance.
