Congratulations to Rayvin Zellmer and Brynn Whigham on qualifying for All-State Speech, which will be held Monday, March 30 in Cedar Falls! Brynn earned qualification with her poetry performance, while Rayvin advanced with storytelling. Congratulations to both of you on this outstanding accomplishment! #WeAreTheU

Spanish 1 students recently wrapped up their study of Spanish-speaking countries and their capitals around the world.

Last Friday the groups took on a fun Breakout EDU , courtesy of Ms. Johnson. Students worked together to gather clues, solve riddles, and unlock four different types of locks. The fastest team completed the challenge in just 22 minutes—an impressive finish! #WeAreTheU

Congratulations to our Underwood Special Olympics athletes! They represented Underwood at the Special Olympics Iowa Spring Classic in Iowa City and showed off their outstanding basketball skills.

Gage Doyen earned 2nd place, Riley Green earned 3rd place, and Isabella Paugh earned 4th place. We are proud of their hard work, sportsmanship, and the way they represented Underwood! #WeAreTheU

We will be closed today, March 16, 2026, due to winter weather resulting in unsafe road conditions. This will be a traditional snow day, and students will not need to make up the missed day. There will be no PK, and Eagle Care will also be closed. #WeAreTheU

Today we begin the countdown to graduation as we celebrate the amazing Class of 2026! 🎓

The 7th/8th TAG students recently designed 3D printing story starter cubes. They then worked with the 2nd Grade students who used the cubes to write stories. #WeAreTheU

Ms. Brich’s kindergarten class explored the Seasons and Weather unit with a hands-on rain cloud experiment!

Students made predictions about how much ‘rain’ their clouds could hold before it poured, using shaving cream and colored water to see science in action. #WeAreTheU

This past weekend, the High School Jazz Band performed at the Bluffs Jazz Festival hosted by ALHS. It was a great showing by the jazz band! There were lots of great comments from the judges, and Charlie Brummett was recognized as an outstanding soloist! Congratulations to everyone! #WeAreTheU

Students in our Economics class stepped into the role of entrepreneurs as they pitched their business ideas to a panel of “investors” during a Shark Tank activity. #WeAreTheU

Students in chemistry class worked with partners to analyze data from the previous day’s investigation, looking for patterns to identify unknown substances. Through detailed notes and evidence-based reasoning, they supported their claims—similar to how forensic scientists analyze evidence to solve cases. #WeAreTheU
