Below is an update regarding the timeline for transportation for the upcoming school year.
Later next week we will begin constructing the bus routes based on the information pulled from student registration within JMC. By waiting we ensure that the majority of families get their students registered before beginning creating the routes. This helps ensure that we do not have to make major changes after the fact due to students not being registered. If you are unsure if you marked that part on your registration please fill out the form linked here: https://forms.gle/XUcfhHpr1AV7G6Qf7.
On 8/19 all drivers will report and go through their routes and assign approximate pick-up/drop-off times. After this the driver will touch base with each family on their route via telephone to go through the approximate pick-up and drop-off times. These phone calls will take place on 8/19-8/21.
If you are to be receiving transportation and you have NOT heard from your driver by 8/22 please reach out directly to Mr. Hamilton (thamilton@underwoodschools.org) via email.

Last Thursday was Mr. Jacobsen's second first day with Underwood! Mr. Jacobsen will be back again at the middle school serving as the MS Principal/Director of Student Services for the 24-25 school year. Mr. Jacobsen previously served as the MS Principal/Activities director at Underwood for 5 years from 2016-2021. He is most excited to build relationships with students and staff while continuing to build on the great things happening in Underwood.

Teams will play in the Council Bluffs COBRA Optimist league at the Iowa West Field House. Registration is open to those going into grades 2nd-7th. As a reminder - do not register directly on the COBRA website if you want to be placed on an Underwood team. All information can be found at the link above. Registration closes August 5th! The Underwood Cheerleaders invite the elementary students (grades PK - 5th) to the sixth annual Mini Eagle Cheer Camp!
Participants will learn cheers and get to perform those cheers with the high school cheerleaders at halftime of the football game. They will receive a T-shirt and their own set of pom-poms! A meal will be provided for them before the start of the football game.

Football is right around the corner! Below are some important dates to keep in mind for any HS football players.
Starting on Monday August 5th the weight room will be open from 7:00 - 8:00am.
There will be a team meeting for all HS football players at 8:00am on 8/5 in the weight room. All HS football players should attend.
Youth camp will run 8/5-8/8 from 5:00 - 6:00pm each day. This will be held at the HS practice field by the bus barn.
HS football camp will run 8/5-8/9 from 6:00 - 8:00pm.
The first day of official practice is August 12th. Players should be on the lookout for information regarding practice via email.
If you haven’t already registered via Bound please make sure to do so.
The post-prom apparel fundraiser is coming to a close August 1st. Don't miss your chance to kick off the 24-25 school year with some new gear! Orders should arrive within the first couple weeks of school. If you do not want to pick up at the store, please indicate your student’s name and incoming grade level in the “notes” section on the checkout page. Proceeds support Underwood Post Prom.

We are pleased to announce that we will be offering a pep bus to tomorrow’s state baseball semifinal in Carroll. The bus will begin boarding at 2:00pm in the HS parking lot and leave at 2:30pm. The game begins at 4:30pm therefore the bus should return to Underwood around 8:30pm.
The bus is open to students entering 6th grade and older this fall. Cost to ride the bus is $20 and includes the cost of the ticket. Students riding can pay with cash or check upon boarding the bus.

We are excited to announce that online registration for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year will be open soon for all students in the Underwood Community School District!
Key Registration Dates:
Online Registration Date: Opens July 22nd, 2024 @ 8:00 am
In Person Registration Dates: August 5th-9th, 8:00 am-3:30 pm. This option is available for those who need assistance or may be new to the district. Feel free to stop into your school office during this time.
How to Register Online:
Accessing JMC: Visit our district website at www.underwoodeagles.org and click on MENU, QUICK LINKS, JMC Parent Access, then the provided link.

For existing students, click on FAMILY. Log in using your parent portal credentials. For those families who attended Pre-K and Kindergarten Round-up, your username is your last name, password is 123456. In the left margin of the home page, click on REGISTER FOR 2024-2025. Follow the prompts on each page.
For new students entering the district, click on NEW FAMILY ENROLLMENT. Follow the provided prompts. Your building secretary will be in touch with you to complete registration.
You are able to pay for fees and put money in your child(ren)'s lunch accounts online while you register. If you are doing in-person registration, please be aware we are only able to accept cash/check payments for fees and lunch accounts. If writing a check, please bring two. One for fees, one for lunch. Sadly, these are two different entities and will need to paid separately.
For NEW families, signature forms will be available at each building during in-person registration. These include Record Release, Home Language & Ethnicity forms. These are also available to download and print during online registration. At this time we do not have the ability to do e-signatures with JMC.
Important Information: Please ensure your child's information is accurate and up-to-date to facilitate a smooth start to the school year. If you are new to our district or have questions regarding registration, our district office can be reached at 712-566-2332. Building secretaries will be in the office starting August 1st for additional assistance. We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to welcoming both new and returning students for another successful school year!
