Jazz Band Completes Busy Weekend
It was a busy weekend for the Underwood Jazz programs.
On Saturday the HS band traveled with the Show Choir to Indianola on a cold but sunny day. The Show Choir finished second out of three choirs in their class and the jazz band finished fourth out of five bands in their class. Two of the three judges had them in third place and only a few points out of second.
Yesterday both the MS and HS bands traveled to Glenwood for the annual SWIBA District Jazz Festival. The MS had a great first performance and only finished behind Treynor and Tri-Center beating Red Oak and Riverside. Clarinda does not have a MS Jazz Band.
The HS band had mixed results from the judges. One had them scoring very high but two of them scored them very low resulting in the HS band not placing this year.
Come out this Friday and catch all of the Underwood jazz programs at our annual Pops Concert. The concert starts at 7:00pm and will feature the HS Jazz Choir, HS Show Choir, MS Jazz Band and HS Jazz Band. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for kids.
